Q: What is your production capacity?
Prototypes to several thousand boards per month

Quoting: 10 days for turnkey, 48 hours for consignment
Prototypes: 1-5 days

Q: Do you have double-sided SMT capabilities?
Yes

Q: Do your capabilities extend beyond printed circuit board assembly?
Yes, at Surmotech, we frequently perform value-added operations that are post-circuit board assembly. Some of these vital operations include test, wire harness assembly, chassis builds and full product builds.

Q: For quoting purposes, what types of files does Surmotech require?
For Consignment:
Assembly drawing
BOM (Any electronic format, ASCII or Excel)
For Turnkey:
Gerber files
BOM (Elect. Format, ASCII, Excel, with manufacturer(s) P/N)

Q: What is the thickness of the board you can process?
.031" - .125"

Q: What is the largest PCB you can fabricate?
16" X 16"

Q: Do I need to have my bare boards electrically tested?
Yes

Q: Are your prototypes built differently from production?
No. But we would prefer to run the prototype through a production process to assure manufacturability.

Q: What CAM software do you use?
Circuit CAM (Prefer to have neutral CAD file)

Q: What is the difference between Class II and Class III inspection?

Class II: Dedicated service electronic products. Includes communications equipment and sophisticated business machines such as telephones and fax machines

Class III: High-performance electronic products. Includes the equipment and products where continued performance-on-demand is critical such as military and medical equipment (For more information, please visit: http://www.ipc.org/)

Q: What is the smallest BGA you can process?
0.4mm (0.016")  ball width is the minimum we can process.

Q: Do you X-ray BGAs?
Yes (X-ray equipment)
